Dried apricots contain a wide variety of minerals, up to five times more than fresh ones. Combined with their delicious sweetness, dried apricots are the perfect snack.
Apricots originated in northern China and were brought to Europe by the Romans, where they were long considered an aphrodisiac. Today, these shrubs or small trees are primarily found in the Mediterranean region, especially in Turkey. Apricots contain carotenoids, a precursor to vitamin A, and many other vitamins such as vitamin B5, folic acid, potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and zinc.
