Our wasabi nuts are peanut kernels coated in crunchy wasabi dough.
Wasabi, also known as Japanese horseradish or water horseradish, belongs to the Brassicaceae family and originates from Japan. Today, the plant, which can grow up to 60 cm tall and from whose 3 cm thick rhizome (rootstock) the spice known as wasabi is made, is also cultivated in Korea, the USA, and New Zealand.
Wasabi is primarily known for its delicious spiciness, which, similar to mustard and horseradish, comes from so-called mustard oils. Wasabi is significantly hotter than horseradish, but the sensation of heat lasts much less time than, for example, chili peppers. Wasabi is particularly popular in Japan as a condiment for sushi, but also for enhancing the flavor of nuts, beans, and peas. In Europe, the distinctive, spicy flavor of wasabi has become extremely popular in recent years.
Wasabi products have become extremely popular snacks.
