Dried, sweetened watermelon "Pizza Cut"

The large, juicy melon fruits, which belong to the gourd family, are divided into watermelons and muskmelons, the latter including honeydew melons. Watermelons grow on plants close to the ground and originated in Central Africa, but today they are cultivated in all tropical and subtropical regions of the world. As the name suggests, the usually red flesh consists of 95.8% water, making the watermelon an important water source, for example, in the Kalahari Desert. In addition to water, watermelons contain many important minerals, vitamins A and C, and the red pigment lycopene, which is an antioxidant.
